Two sexual assaults on two consecutive days in the Wrigleyville neighborhood had local women on alert today while police sought to determine if the two attacks were linked.
In both incidents, a women in her 20s was threatened with a weapon as she entered her building and then forced upstairs, where she was raped in her apartment, police said.
Nonetheless, news of the attacks had many female residents of the trendy North Side neighborhood contemplating their safety and what they could do to better protect themselves.
"This is one of those things you don't expect to happen in your neighborhood," Presser said. "Now, I won't walk my dog alone. I used to go to the store on my own. I won't do that anymore."
Police have increased patrols in the Wrigleyville area, Camden said, but he encouraged women to be more vigilant and aware of their surroundings and to call 911 if they see anything suspicious.
That's right try calling 911 on the cell when a perp has a knife. How about pressing for a concealed carry law in Illinois! Naw, the Big Dummies there are so afraid of guns they would rather take their chances with a rapist...

This city is screwed up. Here we have one of the most corrupt mayors Chicago has ever had since Daley Sr., between the both of them they've had control of this city for well over 40 years, that's longer than AL Capone. That my fellow DUMMIES, is TOO MUCH POWER for one family.
They shaft us every which way we turn, taxes, taxes, and more taxes. The city council is in Daley's back pocket, he calls on them when he needs more money and they back him up all the way just as long as the raises keep coming. He strongarms Mayors from other municipalites to get on board or else.
People are getting murdered left and right with no protection. We need to abolish these no sense "GUN CONTROL LAWS" that cripple us fron defending ourselves in our own homes. Daley and his goons pass laws that make the law-abiding citizen a criminal for owning a gun for home protection.But they're allowed to carry for their protection. If this city is so safe they should have to adhear to the same law they pass and enforce. If these laws work they have no need for a gun for personal protection, all they have to do is dial 911.
There really isn't much one Dummy can do to fight against these "real felon thugs at city hall" but, I've gone out of my way NOT to buy Gas, Liquor, Shop, Dine, Venues, etc... in Chicago. I urge whomever reads these words that they do the same. Do all you can to avoid Daley and his Mob from cashing in on all those city tax dollars.
On the other side of the State you have Blago and his IPASS Scheme brewing, it so convinient now but wait till they start to track you speed and you get the automated traffic tickets in the mail. I urge the one contenplating the IPASS to research how it works in other States and how it will effect you in the future. People are getting traffic tickets in the mail for going over the posted speed limit in other States that use a similar system. Remember it's all about revenue. Wasn't the toll only a temorary thing to pass of the construction of the system, so much for temporary.
Once the IPASS is in place what's to stop the "BOARD" from voting in "The Automatic Traffic Ticket Act" (my name for the whole sheme) later in the program. It comes in Phases once in place then they JAM YA.
It will be a blessed day in this city when the Feds finally catch up to the corrupt mayor sitting on the 5th floor at city hall and Blago The friend to the hunter gets voted out of his chair.
