ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF MACHINE GUNS IN IL
(AP) FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. Federal prosecutors in Fairview Heights have charged a Springfield doctor and at least two Illinois state troopers with illegal possession of machine guns.
A fourth person faces the same charge but has not yet been identified by authorities.
The U-S Attorney's office filed the charges last Wednesday. They were unsealed today.
Among those charged is 69-year-old Harold Griffiths of Spaulding. Authorities say he practices medicine in Springfield.
Also charged is 51 year-old Greg Mugge (MUH'-gee) of Jerseyville and 36-year-old John Yard of Collinsville.
Mugge is a senior master trooper with the Illinois State Police and Yard is a special agent.
Each man faces ten years in prison.

What?!?!?!? Somebody's trying to make the gun laws apply to cops as well? I wonder if CPD is next ...
(just kidding - fat chance)
We need Jury Nullification and perhaps a revisit of Miller. Someone could certainly present evidence of the utility of MGs to a MILITIA (In Miller, no evidence was put forth on the utility of a sawed-off shotgun to the militia, because, MILLER had DIED before getting to the USSC).
Once again, one has to ask the OBVIOUS question: exactly WHO did these nitwits show their MGs to so as to allow the Constabulary to become aware of their possession? If you tell someone a secret, then it isn't a SECRET anymore.
Braggadocio is the Constabulary's best friend when it come to hunting down the "illicit" firearm.
Remember, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT ABOUT YOUR GUNS!!!
Got this off of the ISRA site:
"None of the affidavits accompanying the criminal complaints revealed Griffiths' connection to any of the police officers, other than he allegedly loaned one of the guns to Yard in October. "
Isn't that amazing? The guy was LOANING his ILLEGAL MGs OUT!!!!
